“Khushi” in Hindi means happy, but when my mom talks really fast, it can easily be confused with “kursee,” which means chair—kind of ironic since I can’t sit still for more than 30 minutes without getting bored. Maybe it’s because when I was just 13 months old, I swallowed a battery that leaked acid in my throat—something that, I like to believe, sparked my brain into a constant buzz of creative ideas.
